She was born Dec. 6, 1926 in Houston County and was a resident of Crockett. Mrs. Thompson was a sales person at Foley’s where she worked in the Fine Jewelry Department and was a housewife. She was a member of the Latexo Baptist Church. Survivors include son, Harry Wayne Thompson and wife, Paula of Houston; daughter, Patricia Ann Rector and husband, Carey of Pearland; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, C. P. Conaway of Crockett; sister-in-law, Ann Conaway of Pasadena; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceded in death by husband, Harry L. Thompson; son, Richard B. Thompson; brothers, Emory Conaway, Paul Conaway, Clifford Conaway; sisters, Marie Conaway and Doris Richards. Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Jo Conaway Thompson were held Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Dr. Bill Jones officiating.
