CHICKASHA — Mrs. Barbara Rose Reed Conaway, age 80, of Crockett, Texas passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011 in the East Texas Medical Center-Crockett. Mrs. Conaway was born Oct. 9, 1931 in Chickasha and was a resident of Crockett for the past 30 years. She was actively involved with the Monroe Crook House and Downes-Aldrich House in Crockett, Texas. Mrs. Conaway had been employed by Duo-Fast in Houston and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Crockett, Texas.
Survivors include husband, C. P. Conaway of Crockett, Texas; children, Lynna Bond and husband, Randy of Houston, Texas, David Fleming and wife, Pat of Cedar Creek, Texas, Steve Conaway and wife, Wendy of Houston, Texas, Chuck Conaway of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Shawna, Crissy, Keith, Kim, Lesa, Kara, Keli, Lloyd, Michael, Dylan, Austin, Jason and Jeremy; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Reed of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sisters, Wilma Trempler, Melba Heilman, and Marilyn Wilson, all of Chickasha; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceded in death by sister, Betty Davis and parents, David Clinton and Maggie Mae Reed.
Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Rose Reed Conaway were held Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Crockett, Texas with Rev. Keeney Dickenson officiating. Interment was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P. O. Box 2680, North Canton, Ohio 44720.
