George William Hallmark's Government Land Grant dated August 15, 1835
Excerpt: Whereas, Geo William Hallmark has been admitted as a colonist in the colonization enterprise contracted for by Citizen Empresario Jose Vehlein with the Supreme Government of the State on the 21st day of December 1826; and the said Geo Wm Hallmark having fully proven that his family consists of four individuals and finding in him the requisites prescribed by the Colonization law of March 24, 1825; In conformity with said law and the instructions which govern me, in the Name of the State, I concede to, confer upon and put the said Geo Wm Hallmark in real and personal possession of one league of land situated on the high lands east of the Trinity and whose boundary lines are defined on the map and in the field notes returned by Citizen Surveyor Arthur Henrie as may be seen in this document.
